Project Kiilomanjaro
Over the past year or so, I have noticed a tremendous drop in the release of Halo 2 content around this site and the web in general. Due to the lack of gossip, other sites shutting down and new people not getting the re-direction they need, we have seen a steady influx of new members and interest in the modding of the Halo franchise as a whole. I would like to start measures that would assure a little face time for the site and our aging comunity. I propose that we start up a Remnantmods exclusive map pack, similar to the killtrocity packs released in the day. It's about time we put up a community collaboration to show people around the net what we are now capable of, and how many more aspects of this franchise have yet to be realized. If you have any mods laying around...no mater how slight or unique, please post a summary and a few screens about it here, or contact me on Aim or Messenger. I would like to get this map pack out before October. I'm sure with all the progress we have made thus far in the community, it should be a simple task to spruce up or get together our near finished mods for a solid release. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm willing to contribute, but my mods are usually freakish and bizarre, with no models or skins or nifty effects.

Re: Project Kiilomanjaro
I recommend the project to be named "The Remnant Map Pack".
Can't believe I never released a single mod... how sad.

I'll see about 1 maybe even 2 maps, second idk about October though..
definitely change your name for the mappack.
something that says remnant, but not directly would be neat.

Re: Project Kiilomanjaro
Ok, how about we name the map pack......"Limitless Potential" map pack....???
Not a whole lot of takers I see? That is truly a shame. From what I have seen, we have a fairly large numbers of mods that we could include in this that have already been released via Remnants download section. Perhaps if not making new mods is a god choice for some...perhaps just spruce up a few that have ben previously released, but could be improved upon given the progress we have made?

Activity hasn't gone down, but it's still no where near enough to assemble a mappack.

That's exactly what i am saying you guys deny it but then put examples of what i am saying, there's no activity since members may be here but they're not all modding so yeah we won't pull out a mappack with that attitude, demotivated and which refer as loss of activity but count on me for a mod

Re: Project Kiilomanjaro
Im sure i can find somthing in my box-o-mods to submit.
Sence i havnt completed my own mappack.
And i think you guys should all worry about wiping up something, or finishing something, for the mappack. Instead of worring about the packs completion, or the lack of modding.

Re: Project Kiilomanjaro
Lots of hostility in here huh? If I had known that suggesting a map pack from my friends here would instil such negativity, I would have kept my mouth shut. I'm not askin for a whole lot here guys.... just a few forgotten mods or a few touched up ones that you already had that never released. I mean christ.... I got Alphagasgiant, hq_1b, hq_2 and hq_4 done and waiting. And to boot, I got another 2 in the works and 1 that's 99% done also. & maps already included in the map pack! If this is the way it's gonna be, I'll just release a map pack myself with a couple of you guys that I talked to this week, and just say..fuck the rest of you!
I just thought it might be nice...for once...to put aside all the negativity and general shit that holds us back as a community, and show people what they are missing out on! Correct me if I'm wrong...but all that negative, leave me alone about shit attitude, is what started the downfall of the first comunity we started...cough...(Halomods)...cough.

Re: Project Kiilomanjaro
There's no hostility.
I just made an off-hand comment, and neodos thought he'd be able to use it as proof of a claim he made a week ago.
Rookie mistake, neodos.
Better luck next time.

Why not softmod it, it's easy and I never had any problems with it.JacksonCougar wrote:When my new modchip arrives I shall be making some mods. Yesh.

Re: Project Kiilomanjaro
Are we talking just map mods or weapon mods as well? AKA Do we want this mappack to resemble a Bungie release or a mixture of both?
Either way I have one I'll clean up a bit more and submit.
