I personally hope the database is intact. Otherwise allot of knowledge, resources, and mods could be lost.Gjsdeath wrote:New skin would be nice, but its all up to JC.

Re: Halomods...
I agree. Once it is back up, we should get some mods and programs over to the Remnant server in case of total failure. Grenadiac really needs to fix Halomods or get some more Administrators. Or make Tural Super Tural...DemonicSandwich wrote:I personally hope the database is intact. Indeed, the loss of HaloMods results in the loss of a whole lot of knowledge.

Or Grenadiac may purposely have shut it down to do maintenance on it... It's never been down this long, but we will see in due time.

Re: Halomods...
Meh, I got your info right here
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=894
I personlly think this has way more info then you can ever find any halomods. Everything is kept secret and all. Besides this info is derived from lots of research, numerouse apps any lots of greate modders. I think if some people contributed to it, AI, Weather, etc it could be very usefull.

Don't snort the magic, we need it for the network.

You guys already said you'd backup tutorials and resources last time the server went down, but no one did

Re: Halomods...
Quite a few of the tutorials were garbage and used old methods, but some of them were pretty good. You kind of need to be able to do the stuff without the tutorial to know if it's a good tutorial or not, which kind of defeats the purpose.

Also, Gren is fairly quick to answer my emails. Last time he had a response in like 8 hours (Sent at midnight, answer at 8, when I assume he woke up), and the site was back up a few hours later. I just get apathetic and don't inform him when the site goes down. I'll drop him a line so you people can get whatever information you want.
Halomods won't be around forever, I'd get it while it's there...
And yes, that's foreshadowing based on information I have.

What useless hope.Eaton wrote:I hope that isn't true... So much would be lost.
Grenadiac will see no point in paying for the space when no one is actually making a commitment to the community. Halo Modding is way past its climax. We're comin' to the end.
Not to mention, in the near future, the knowledge gained from halo modding will be rendered useless, what with all the new technology and games that are released.

Re: Halomods...
Grenadiac has been taking a loss each month for this year, as far as I know. Ads don't cover the expense anymore, ever since Google changed their ad style, and since HM has been declining in activity, just as modding in general has been.

Does that mean that Grenadiac might consider closing the site down?Tural wrote:Grenadiac has been taking a loss each month for this year, as far as I know. Re: Halomods...
Should gather all the information and bring it here.
Does that mean people might gradually be coming here?
