Looks cool, if I can, I will help.

Also, some other questions:

What do we code this in?
Do we get an SDK then plug in our content and scripts?
Do we have to build it from scratch, including a Render and everything? Or do we get a basic pre-made one?

If by some chance, we win, how would money be split up? 40 grand is quite a lot of money.

The code has to be written in C# using the XNA framework.
No.
Yes.
No.
Most likely an even split.

I had a story in mind a while back about humans leaving earth and storing their dna and then being cloned once a habitable planet was found. The system messes up once sister planets are found and both planets get populated. The planets begin war on each other for some reason and the hero's end up being the same clones. Thought it would be nice to work with 2 different technologies and 2 different environment types.

Some of the suit tech I was thinking of was element energy. The suit would have storage device for different energy types. So your walking around a planet literally sucking the life out of shit to give your suit energy. A weapon system where your suit is providing the energy needed to fire.

Your suit would have a energy storage device on the wrist, the center of the glove has a white halo being the blended energy, your player would extend their hand and suck energy into their palm The tips of the fingers would have smaller colored halos being the different energies. The weapons would have touch pads for a certain energy type to power the weapon.

Point being, I can model, texture, and I can also work with sound if you give me a nice program.
A nice sandbox sdk would be appreciated. Bungie's system is nice, and i could see you using something fairly close.

That sounds like a really cool game idea, but its far too big for this. Me and neodos have come up with a fairly simple idea, which requires only a small amount of art since it uses procedurally generated environments. However, we do need audio.

If you need another coder, this sounds like a great opportunity.

Played around with it just a little bit. Just some basic 3D stuff, like randomly generated connecting rooms and floors, but then went back to working on Entity. I found a site that taught me alot of DirectX/XNA stuff. Has some great tutorials and is still really good at showing me new stuff.

I would like to know more about these randomly generated rooms...
I am concerned that you wouldn't have enough time to spent on the game though...

That could be very true. I wish I had this opportunity years ago when I had way more time. Even so, if you don't have a full team I would be more than willing to contribute as much as I can; the experience would be great. On the other hand, I don't want to be the one to hold you back, so if you have people who can get done what you need, then I understand that as well.

The rooms were a 3D generation of an old-school 2D game called "Spy Vs Spy". I found out soon after working on this that a newer 3D version actually had been released for XBox, so I abandoned it. It basically just made square rooms, joined them with randomly positioned doors and placed objects (paintings, desks, etc) within the room. It was creating floors as well, which were to be joined by ladders.

This was the original:

Man, I remember one christmas getting that game, we set boobytraps so often we would forget where we set em and kill ourselve's.
It was so much fun, everytime someone got killed we would all burst out laughing.

I had planed back in the day to make a mod similler to spy vs spy, but i could never get any cool traps to work, and there was a door issue.

This Dream Build Play thing sounds interesting, i cant wait to see what you guys come up with.

I made it yes but it wasn't drawn. It's more a mixture of like 50 images to make one.
Did the same with these:

If you give me a nice sandbox for a 2d game, I can make art asap. I have a friend in film school in cali that could write a story aswell.

No thanks, we're doing a 3D game with procedurally generated terrain, but if your up for making textures (terrain / plant life / menu art) then welcome aboard =P
