Computer Issue

Post by Zaid »

Not that big of a problem but It is really frustrating, I have two speaker jacks on my computer and no matter what speaker or what set of headphones I use the right speaker doesn't work on any of them.

Does anyone have an idea what can be wrong?

Its possible the right sound channel is turned down...but I have no idea how you'd fix that
Its more likely a hardware issue
But you could try reinstalling your sound drivers

Maybe the speakers or headphones are broken? Check the balance levels, make sure they are even.

No, the speakers aren't broken and the balance levels are good.

That sounds like you have 2 mono jack sockets...
Try using a "Left speaker, right speaker" diagnostic, IF you have 2 mono sockets 1 socket should play "Left" and 1 should play "Right"
That sounds sh*t but I can't think of anything else
I'm not upto speed with W7 so IDK if there's a sound card output monoizing option

*edit*
Perhaps the front (i assume 1 front, 1 back) socket has been put on the wrong jumper pins on the sound card shorting out the right channel on the sound card, disconnect the jack socket that uses the fly lead and try again.

The right speaker always worked it just stopped working out of nowhere and I thought it was my headphones that broke but I was wrong.
