Halo 5 Guardians Footage

Here it is boys. Halo 5 guardian footage. We got a style of aim down sights (ADS), but do note it is identical to Halo's zoom and not like COD's zoom. We also have more armor abilities like Hulk smash--aka ground pound. Also have built in thruster pack and increase run speed when you pick up sword. Weird beeping when you hit players with bullets and shoot guns. Sprint keeps your shield from recharging. Weapons on map and no more ordinances. Static timers for items and weapons. Looks like our character can interact with the map more, such as climbing on ledges, slide, charge, etc--these are all like armor abilities. It looks different and because I havent played it, I don't have an opinion just yet. I hope these are enhancements/ :| Also, really fucking annoying voiceovers for medals--holy shit they are cheesy. But that's petty.

The Spartan Abilities are for everyone. Every player can use thrusters, sprint, clamber, ground pound, charge, slide, and ADS-styled zoom. Armor Abilities (at least in the beta so far) have been done away with.

People have been pretty pissed about this stuff but I have no doubt that this will go away when the beta comes out and skeptics play it. What they're doing isn't crazy. I get it. This Halo could be the most skill-based one.

The sword is actually a new weapon, called the Prophet's Bane. Run faster with it and longer lunge range when you zoom in. It's even listed in the feed when your team has it. http://i.imgur.com/7p5MWuj.png

I agree with the announcer, he gets more over the top with every iteration and it's starting to annoy me. Some aesthetics bother me too; they don't seem very "Halo," like the new BR scope for example.

Yea, in previous games it was the same (skilled players knew the respawn rates and would sometimes call it out to teammates)

Some changes that look fun, not a big fan of the zoom-in reticle which actually makes it hard to focus, though I heard when zooming you still walk at normal speed which is a plus and new.

Seems like they want to make the game more competitive focused, I hope there will be some big team battle maps and modes still, while not very serious those big maps and game modes were always fun on Halo.

I just like that they pulled back from the cod-ness that Halo 4 had going for it. I hated Halo 4 for the gameplay elements in multiplayer: weapons on map replaced by the care-package drops was ruinous in the way they implemented it. It felt like you couldn't 'learn' the map at all and removed a lot of weapon based resource control strategy. The individual player starting load-outs fucking sucked: halos defining element has always been the level start: giving everyone from the best player to the greenest noob the exact same load-out makes you feel like more of a badass when you start winning more and more, and removes the lingering thought in your mind that you might be losing because your starting weapons are not as good as the other guys (looking at you CoD). Finally the perks... I mean armour abilities. Fuck off with that—what was wrong with equipment? I actually liked equipment: again it created a resource war and could change the entire tide of games if used well. And another thing: I missed the power-ups on map for the same reason as all the rest of the things the removed: created resource wars, and scarcity was king. Being able to get the cloak and become the camo-whore with the rocket launcher and decimate the entire other team? That was good stuff. And because not everyone had the ability as a starting fucking load-out I felt it wasn't always on peoples mind to watch out for camo as it became in Halo 4.

I tend not to get on board with the hype trains nowadays and rarely hear about games until post-launch because I am so removed from regular advertising targets, but from what little I've seen of it it looks pretty promising.
