Since this is the only modeling/rendering thread we have, I'll just post this here. I've been getting into sub-d modeling, and it really isn't that hard. I picked it up in a few days, and this is what I've been working on.

Not sure if I'll finish it, and this is definitely not going into Halo 2.

My apologies. I've looked at the original images so many times that I automatically know what it is. It's the Rocket Launcher in Halo: Reach, lol.

I like practicing with Halo's geometry. It's pretty simple stuff usually, but I think it's a bad habit to get into.

Small update.

My goodness Neodos, Prisoner looks fantastic!

Perhaps you could enlist Ogrish to help with the collision. He seems to be the king of Onyx + RTH. I would love to see this completed.

Also, I had to laugh at this:

Hehe thanks!

I will keep posting when I finish this one and paint another part of the map.

I have the collision boxes made on the 3D app, posted a picture a year ago, and XZodia will hopefully make an app that can write my boxes(exported into a text file) to the scnr mach placement.
So that will save me and Ogrish, the trouble of placing something around 200 boxes, with a set of 21 different sized boxes =D

Hope to see you more often on AIM Capt =)

It looks very Cold Storage-ish, which had a Forerunner style that I was quite fond of. I do indeed look forward to the modeling progress.

I can haz? I haven't finished mapping the cubes but that would save so much time...

Also, as usual, looks epic neodos. Can't wait to see what you make of it.

NotZachary (1:23:15 AM): it has nukes, random things happening, and retards screaming
NotZachary (1:23:19 AM): kinda like MW2

Thanks for the comments, i wish Eaton i wish xD but it isn't that good, far from it ^^ hopefully i can get my hands on a "The Art Of Halo 3" book, which is now quite rare and expensive, i probably could learn a lot from that.

Yup i was looking at Cold storage screenshot when i started, prisoner on halo 1 also is forerunner =P i will eventually get more detail in the 3D version using textures i'll make, though i think cold storage is a bit overdetailed.

yes you can, when its done ^^ but i am exporting my boxes from 3D app called Softimage with a little script i made, you might need to create such script for whatever app you use.

Anyway here's where i am gonna stop with this sketch, i am gonna start modeling that part of the map, i might do some paint over my model while working on it to throw in some more intresting and complex shapes.

Link because forum is cutting it.

Thanks. And yeah, it's more Halo shit that probably will never get finished, but I'm really trying. I'm getting some crit from a couple people and learning more about how to setup the wireframe and such.
