Re: Computer Talk
I take solace in the fact that it's not as bad as Eaton's.
But it's still awful.
Sweet ping, gjsdeath.
Edit:
*sigh*
Much better, obviously. But probably not a reliable measurement.

I'm looking for a shiny blue harddrive. It needs to be over 20GB and needs a transfer rate of at least 50MB/s

He means "beat it" as in having a worse connection. And as far as I know, Gjsdeath has the worst internet speeds of anyone in this community.socrates wrote:Gjsdeath wrote:I know right? It's freaking awesome, no one can beat it...Owned.JacksonCougar wrote:

Hmm, maybe I can take the top off of an old harddrive and paint it a lighter blue with a layer of clear, then put it back on and hope the drive works.xxpenguinxx wrote:I'm looking for a shiny blue harddrive. It needs to be over 20GB and needs a transfer rate of at least 50MB/s
If my one computer is just going to sit there it better at least look nice enough to sit there.

Re: Computer Talk
Thinking about buying this:
http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/49f6e5350 ... XC4928-19P
Mainly want my own computer to use with photoshop etc..
Sort of want a laptop but a desktop would be a lot better.

On a side note, anyone here use dual monitors? and remember in nvidia driver settings etc. if when given the option to switch to two monitors it shows only one monitor if only one is plugged in? or does the fact that my one monitor plugged in and only shown option to have one (not just faded out) means that I only have support for one monitor...even though 9500 series GFX card I haz has two monitor connections..

Yep, I just happen to use such a device.xzodia wrote:it supports any many monitors as connections, you can even get usb connectors but there not very good
They are decently cheap and only require a driver install, but since the graphics card is the USB device itself, it has poor performance.
Don't expect to do anything more than play internet videos on one.

Re: Computer Talk
By that "on one" you mean on the USB type? cuz my buddy has dual monitors..and a freakin beastly computer... I was viewing his secondary screen via windows live video -he set the "camera" to be the output of his screen but him still view also..- and he was playing Crisis in full settings... obviously not at perfect fps but it was still above 50fps with some other apps running on primary monitor and windows live video chat..

I went on newegg just to see how much it would cost me to build the fastest desktop while making sure the things I chose were reliable.
Well, here is what I thought of (no way in hell will I ever spend that much at one time, even if I did have the money, well...):
