Xbox Live Unavailable On September 29th

Im sure most of you have gotten your message from xbox but for some who haven't this is the message you get and you know what it means new stuff to play around with.
XBL Message:
Xbox LIVE and Xbox.com will be offline on Monday, 9/29/2008 from 12:01 AM PST up to 24 hours. This service maintenance will allow us to bring some exciting new features and functionality to you this holiday through the new Xbox Experience.
Also from Xbox.com:
For 24 hours starting 9am [10am CET] on September 29th you’ll notice that your Xbox LIVE service is temporarily unavailable. This is, in fact, terrific news!
This particular Xbox LIVE downtime is especially important because it will ready the Xbox LIVE network for the arrival of the New Xbox Experience later this year – an amazing free update that will change the way you enjoy Xbox 360 entertainment forever. Think of it as the first tremor before the earthshattering arrival of something extraordinary!
Very soon the New Xbox Experience will transform your Xbox 360 into a limitless world of home entertainment in which the best games, movies and TV shows live side by side with your personal pictures and music library. Everything you enjoy about your Xbox 360 can be shared at any time with friends via Xbox LIVE using cool customisable animated Avatars.

Hey, maybe this update will make my ingame Xbox menus even slower.

This may be a stupid question to ask you but have you cleared your xbox cache it made mine go faster.

No, they even state that directly in the portion you quoted...

It has begun....to my extreme annoyance.
And for those who will try to sign in you will likely be asked to Test Connection and recieve an MTU error.
I find this odd since the MTU shouldn't require Xbox Live to test since it's purely a network stat.

Yea wtf is up with that, it loads the some shit as before with a 5 minute wait. I found that the media tab never updates so I just go there to get around the wait.

I was referring to that menu you can use while in actually playing a game.
It lags then the menu finally comes up after a few seconds. A few seconds is nothing to some buy is aggravating to impatient ones like myself.

Yay, Xbox Live is back online.
And just like a typical Microsoft update, not much was changed and it broke shit in the process.
I can barely get a match regardless of what game I am playing.
