Everyone try and save as much as you can if the site goes down for good.

How about an IQ test?NotZachary82 wrote:What would the test even be about? You can't ask modding questions if they're newcomers.Grimdoomer wrote:Maybe make new comers take a test before they can post? And if they are just idiots don't let em in? That would help a lot.
Perhaps give a brief run-through of how modding works, so that newcomers can get an idea of what to discuss.

eh, Its hard to find things of usefulness, I guess I could grab a few apps, ifs just hard for me to find things of use, because I know how to do just about everything those apps can do.

Re: Halomods...
Sorry my post was contradictary, i have mixed feelings.
Most of the tutorials should be saved, i can do most things but after awhile i foget how.
As for the mods, most links are dead anyway. And the mods that were good need updated.
theres a couple apps that could be saved.
HALOMODS didnt help me learn to mod, but there content did so thanx to all who posted,
And thanx to the site for collecting the content, i guess.

Re: Halomods...
I don't really know how I learned... I had SO much trouble just getting Halo 2 on the hard-drive and doing a simple dual-wield mod. But now I am a pro at modding and I know so much about it.

Re: Halomods...
I didn't mod my hard drive specifically for halo 2 modding, so I already had been ftping and copying games to the hard drive, which really wasn't that hard to figure out anyway, just need good instincts with computers. As far as modding goes the tutorials on how things worked never helped all that much, they kind introduced me to things, but until I had figured the stuff out for myself they didn't fully make sense, which is kinda backwards. How reflexives work and what they allow you to do took me the longest to learn, once the first couple of versions of entity started coming out though that really showed me.
Also, for the younger people, in halomods prime, there were tons of people figuring stuff out and releasing sweet mods. Now that that's all gone the noobs outnumber people who actually know a thing or two and they just run amok. Sure halomods was not perfect, but it was THE site for modding halo 1 and 2, so it is sad for me to see it go, and I wasn't even on the site until about half way through the halo 2 modding era.

I got my Halo2 on the HDD without any help... I have no idea how you wouldn't be able to know how.
I did it the day I started modding...

I think I had it on my hard drive before I started modding actually. That or it might have been halo 1.

I didn't have a big enough hard drive at the time if I remember right, softmodded and I hadn't upgraded the hd yet.

Right... just what we need: another website that may or not be around in a year from now.
