I got the master chief collection matchmaking to work! Turns out xbox one games need a lot of ports forwarding...

Really? I thought that anything locally would use UPnP...XZodia wrote:I got the master chief collection matchmaking to work! Turns out xbox one games need a lot of ports forwarding...
Don't snort the magic, we need it for the network.

I keep UPnP disabled most of the time, and I always have trouble finding the correct ports for applications. Sometimes they use random ports which is just annoying.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
That's because a lot of times they use dynamic port numbers if they are not using a protocol that uses a well known port number (ex: http, ftp, ssh, telnet). Which is where UPnP comes in handy, because it will try to open up those ports automatically for you. You also don't need to configure anything for it to work, just turn it on and forget it.xxpenguinxx wrote:I keep UPnP disabled most of the time, and I always have trouble finding the correct ports for applications. So Microsoft Bizspark has given me free cloud computing with Azure for the next couple of years...
Any ideas for interesting ways to use it?

Still alive; little more than a little stressed out about the summer though and the changes I need to make.

I had a temporary Unity Pro license, which recently expired, so I wrote a bat script to change the date and bypass the reactivation XD

Sure thang, I hope it inspires people to spend a bit more time figuring out how the game deals with data and less time trying to manipulate a binary file that is optimized for memory.JacksonCougar wrote:I'm really happy Grim came back on remnant to post that giant post about how the memory is laid out in the tags. Recently started dating my best friend, something I thought would never happen, best decision of both of our lives.

Re: The Official Happiness Thread
Took me an entire day to get the code generating correctly but I finally got around to re-writing the read from file methods of the Guerilla taglayouts in moonfish and got a performance improvement of around 20x
Which lets me parse the maps into memory in about 3 seconds on my laptop. It's no longer cpu bound and there's still room for improvement but I'm leaving it there for now and moving back onto other crap
.happy

Some progress pictures I guess. About a day of work to get that working and it's rather poorly implemented but ah well.
