This is dev v1 of my copter. I seperated the shaders as much as I could to show how much I need to do... just because its the same color doesnt mean its the same shader :p

Rockets wont show up for some reason. Right wing needs adjusting. Back jets fucked up on the left one (though I welded the same verts?). Wings have crap wrong with them (I made a thread about it in modding discussion). Surfaces look like shit, needs welding of vertices and smoothing.

The only parts that move (right now) are the jets. There is a gif a few posts above this one demonstrating how it moves so far. The next things that need to get moving are the rocket pods to move like the rockets on the pelican, and I havent even imported the model of my chaingun yet.

Time for 8 pictures.

Forward, too. Ignore the positioning of the lights, lol.

Ive gone far :p

Now you just need to finish up welding those verts.

Well I have to make a completely new right wing because i did it wrong. Which verts where I supposed to weld again? The ones of a common face? Because when I view my model in wireframe in game, it looks all white instead of how it should be, suggesting I welded it... wrong.

Next step for me is positioning the lights for the jets, then getting the MC in a relatively near place to the actual seat, etc etc. Model touch ups and skinning come near to last, I want it functional first :p

If you want function first, then model, physical collision and ballistic collision would come first. Effects would be last.
Because everything goes off the model, everytime you change the model, you will likely have to fix something else. Might as well knock out the model first.
Then the next tough parts are physical collision and ballistic collision.

I said that at 6 am I think, hell I cant even remember.

Alight, Ill try and get the model done first. Which verts should I weld? What should I use smoothing groups on?

No not yet but maybe after I correct the model. Max 11 doesnt like working with small numbers so i have to export it scaled at 10000% and do the correction in misfit

Is Max 11 just welding verts or what? Your export options may be off a tad.

the accuracy of the export is horrific. probably because it exports to four decimal places.

He's talking about within the modeler. The 3 boxes at the bottom. That setting only rounds down what is already in the modeler.
However that setting you've outlined above is just as important.

Anyway.
Customize -> Preferences -> General Tab -> Spinners section -> Precision Decimals.

alright i might have over looked that. lol. ill see if it makes difference (:

Yep its making all the difference, the model was only turning bad when i exported it but those other settings will be useful too. i have 64 bit, might as well use it

Thought i lost this level but i found it again. Its a three sequence boss fight, starts with 2 elites wielding two swords. After they're dead, 2 flying elites spawn and throw fireballs at you(its cool as hell) Than finally a hunter with a beam cannon, rocket launcher, and 2 chainguns comes out. It gets pretty impossible at that point lol.
