Go for it man! Don't hesitate. People have been asking girls out for centuries and have all felt the same struggle. Honestly, just don't think about it. Speak off the top of your head and you will do fine.

Why did you lose your nerve is the important question. Do you know her well and have flirted, or are you asking on someone that is basically a stranger? Either way you should ask her out, and I'm sure you know all this, but if she's a stranger, talk to her and get her to laugh and then see if she wants to do something with you.

Someone who made out with a lesbian, is having trouble asking out a straight girl...

We've spoken although not at any great length, she's in my applied math class... Why I lost my nerve is just lack of confidence I think...

I think you should talk to her more and pique her interest, so she at least kinda knows who you are a little. You don't need to be confident that she'll say yes, just that there's at least some possibility, because you talked to her, hopefully made her laugh, and she doesn't think you're just some creepy guy. If she says no, you haven't really lost anything, there's tons of girls out there.

Use ******* and enable encryption for both incoming and outgoing connections. Then use the port XboxConnect uses (8602) and forward it in your router to your pc's IP.

That's about the same speed I downloaded it. I let it download overnight.

Also, that torrent... 4gigs isn't the size of the ISO so that either includes something else or it isn't legit.

The total size is like 3.5 GB

Comcast is at it again, sucking horribly.

Monday my internet service has been horridly slow. I call Comcast about my issues. After the initial stuff where I prove the account is mine, they transfer me to a technician whom I tell him my issues. At the time my connection speed was, at it's peak, less than 15% of what it should be. He runs some tests and finds something wrong and tells me he will send a guy out on the following Wednesday morning...at that point the phone handset battery dies.

Wednesday morning comes and goes and no repairman shows up, and my connection remains as slow as it was on Monday so I call them again later that night.
A women on the phone reviews the records and tells me that the job was labeled "Complete" even though no one ever came.
She says she will send in the information and I should receive a call the next day.

Friday comes and I still have horrid service clearly showing that they have ignoring my calls.
I restart my modem and a short time later the main router as well.
I get decent speeds for about 7 minutess and it goes back down to the slow speed.

I call again, very angered, and come on a bit strong in the beginning of the call.
A bit set back from the outburst, the women on the phone asks a few questions about the devices on my network.
I tell her...

Women: Do you have any routers?
Me: I have one router next to the modem and another one that plugs into that.
Women: What about any devices?
Me: Eh, devices?
Women: Do you have a PC like a Mac or a Windows?
Me: I have an XP PC, a Vista PC, and the last is an Xbox 360.
Women: Ok, could you go to the Vista machine and find like a computer icon?
Me: A computer icon? (confused) Oh, you're referring to the Network Icon?
Women: Yes, could you right click that and click Diagnose?
Me: Sure.

At this point I know this isn't going to help what-so-ever since the diagnose only finds issues between the PC's network card and and first device it connects to, which in this case in my second router. Plus the fact the slow speeds affect my machines regardless of network setup or whether or not a router is even involved.
Big surprise, no issues found.

(After a few seconds)
Me: Nope, it hasn't found any issues with the network.
Women: Ok, could you go to the Start Menu.
Me: Ok.
Women: ...and now the Control Panel.
Me: Ok.
Women: Now click on the icon named "System Management".
Me: I do not have such an icon, I have one named "System".
Women: Ok, now double-click the "System Management" icon.
Me: (slightly louder) I don't have "System Management"! I only have "System".
Women: Ok, so click on that.
Me: Ok.
Women: Ok, now find something that says Device Manager and click it.

Anyone here who uses Vista will realize the stupidity here. In Vista, the Device manager has it's own icon, an icon right above the System icon she had me select.

Me: Dammit. That has it's own frig'n window. (very annoyed now, goes to the real D.M. window)
Me: Ok, I'm in the Device Manager.
Women: Ok, go to where is says something like Network Adapters and click that and tell you what you see.
Me: I see the driver for my PC's Ethernet card.
Women: Ok, now click that... (very short pause as to correct ones-self) ...right-click that and there should be an option named "Properties".
Me: Ok.
Women: Ok, now click "Uninstall".

(short pause from disbelief)

Me: (loud, alarmed, and pissed) WHAT?!
Women: Click uninstall.
Me: You want me to uninstall my fucking network driver?!
Me: FUCK THAT!
Me: I don't have the driver backed up, if I uninstall it I can't fucking use my PC's internet and I can't get it back.
Women: I am trying to solve your problem. After you uninstall it, restart your computer.

I paced around my room for a short time before finally just hanging up.
I think the bitch was trying to get back at me for snapping at her at the beginning of the call.

:XD: That's great, how those people know so much about computers and networking.

How would uninstalling and restarting your computer fix an ISP problem :XD:

Well, at least I get a good laugh out of your pain.

I think she did it just to get back at me for calling them(not her, Comcast as a whole) "lazy assholes" and accusing them of the true fact of them ignoring my calls.

Demonic I have a question, is it only your vista computer or every computer that has a slow connection? I'm assuming it's every computer but I'm just checking.

DS, maybe seeing how bad my internet, would make you feel a little better about mine.

Okay;

Ping: 900-1400 ms (no online games)
upload: 10-40kbps (kills online games some more)
Download: 900-1000 Kbps (though, most file downloads load at 200-300kbps)
12 GB Bandwidth limit for download (though I can't recall download 12+ full length HD movies...)

Oh yea, when I get to about 75-80% of my limit, they slow me down back to dial-up... and when I do hit the full limit, they said they would cut my service.

And the worse part, it's this or dial-up.

All machines. Both computers and the 360.
I knew when I called them again, my network setup would definitely come into question. You may see why. (¬_¬)
Image
Router 2 is on Router 1's DMZ, the 360 is on Router 2's DMZ.

That light blue cable, the one that connects the first router to the second, is a bit over 55 feet in length. Spanning the full length of four walls under the carpet.
It was either get some $20 router, or get 110 feet more cable and move 3000lbs of shit to place the cable.

So before I called again, I disconnected my routers and hooked my 360 directly to the cable modem.
Still resulted in incredibly slow speeds but I wanted to have proof it's not my network.

When I called again, a different women, one with a brain, helped me out. She chuckled in disbelief when I told her what the other one tried to have me do.
She ran a full diagnostic and found an outage. About 60% of Comcast users around me had an outage and was diverted to my area's network.

She scheduled a repairman to come out this Sunday as well as file a report as to why the first one never showed up.
According to the last report, the guy came by around 8:00am and found no one home, left and declared the job Completed.

My family was awake since 6:30 am cause Wednesday is like, ya know, a school day. (¬_¬)

@Gjsdeath: Hmm, you sir should consider Satellite internet...or at least one without a bandwidth limit cause Remnant has more bandwidth than that and I bet a whole lot cheaper. (¬_¬)

Why else would I have a crappy upload and ping? Why? because the laws of physics hate me.

I have wildblue.

Also new rant;

My kitten got out side, where I do not want it at night because our neighbor's dumb-ass dogs jump and kill anything that moves, and they got like three.
Gladly one got hit by a 4-wheeler because it runs in front of everything(including cars), sadly; it was only wounded.

Also, I just smashed my finger, again, for the 3rd time, and it hurts again.
And to add to that, my speakers are making some noise that bugs the hell out of me, and it won't stop.

:x

I need to shoot something, maybe my speakers. :hmm:

Lol @ Demonic, Comcast sucks so much. Next time just tell them you have already talked to a couple peple and just want someone to come out and look at it. Either that or tell them that there is a ethernet cable that leads to a horses ass.
Don't snort the magic, we need it for the network.
