2nd hard drive dead. This one just randomly died and not from my anger.

Dropped around $600 dollars on a camera just to realize I don't know how to photograph. Guess I should learn that. Also life is becoming extremely blase lately.. So I gave notice at my work and am planning a trip to Asia with my dad for 6 moths.

Last few months there's been a girl at my work who is pretty amazing if I say so, been trying to get to know her better and I realized something. I fucking hate people. Like I am used to some of the things: not being good at talking to people about bullshit I really have no interest in, but I realized I really am simply bad at making 'friends': I'm naturally antisocial as fuck, tend to do things alone.. and the few times which I bother trying to make an effort to talk to people or make plans with them it is always in a really half-assed way. So back to the earlier point: I like this girl and I want to be friends but I just text her random shit, and I don't bother trying to make a concentrated effort to find things out about her because I don't want to cross that line between 'likable' and 'creepy'. I tend to wait a few days for her to initiate texting, but she never does so I end up caving and text some bullshit which means rather little to anyone anywhere. Basically I have come to realize that she's one of those shy likable girls who is used to getting hit on a lot and only takes notice of guys who are willing to control the situation, which me being a lazy man I refuse to bother. I know that initially there was a strong attraction between us, but I figure I've squandered it by waffling. waffle. waffles. waffled.

On an added note I swear I've paid for our domain name like three times already this year. Time cannot be passing so quickly can it?

Learning to program again slowly. Just need a muse to come visit me for a time.

Wish I still photoshopped and did 3ds max work, or any creative works in general. I really miss having projects to just submerge myself into for weeks at a time. All I have that comes close to that is the constant flow of work I seem to have coming at me from my job, but I have lost the enthusiasm to actually throw my heart into it anymore. Only so much line-cooking one can do before you reach a point of diminishing returns.

Waffling can be good and bad, its better to say something than nothing so long as it doesn't work against you. You really need to get some more face time with her though.

I'm taking a computer with me so I am hopeful to be intermittently able to go online, but the six months I'm hoping to focus on other parts of my life for a change. Been too long doing things which put me in the sidelines, and not enough time growing of late. Also yea, gone out to get food with her a few times, but as I've said I'm terribly anti-social and the last time we went out together I didn't have much of anything to say so she was good enough to carry the conversation. I'm not a bloody morning person. Mostly I bloody hate making plans with people because they usually fall through, and I suck at thinking of good things to do: I'm stuck in my rut of wandering the city for hours which I cannot imagine would be a fun activity to do for most people in the winter.

We have 3 PCs.

My mother's, the original one that we got almost a decade ago, started to act up badly.
It's newly installed protection software isn't running, can't be started, and can't be repaired or uninstalled. Both in normal and safe mode.

So I do a System Recovery (Windows XP). A task I've done a dozen times in the past. It simply removes the OS and applications but leaves personally files (read: desktop and my documents) intact.
It even states that in the prompt that personal files are left alone.
This time around, it did the exact opposite. Some of the applications were still installed like Firefox and a random game, both of which didn't exist when the PC was built, but all the personally files are gone.
Almost 10 years of photos gone.
I have almost 40GB of space used on the drive, but can only account for 9GB of it so the shit might still be there.

And to top it all off, I somehow broke the fucking screen.

Oh ya, it's also my birthday.

Before anything else, grab a file restorer/undelete program and run it off a USB stick. Should hopefully be able to recover most of your stuff.

^^ This. You should hopefully be able to find the files unless they were overwritten in the restore.

Check how much hard drive space is being used, if its about what it was before you restored it, the files are likely hidden or stored in a non-default directory.

My parents are flipping out over me drinking, when all I do is have 1 friend over, 1, sleep over, get drunk and play mario kart and freestyle or something -_- But that some how translates into a party to them. I won't be living in my house after the next 6 months because my dad can't afford it. Non of my family is doing anything for xmass so I'm probably gunna spend it hanging out with a friend or on skype polishing off a bottle of captain. I'm just trying to eat drink and be merry, xmass is my favorite holiday, but this year I honestly can't wait for it to just be over so I can start looking foward to next xmass.
