Redone requires you have the bitmaps, since most of the bitmaps will remain the same, not much will change and yes, it does provide better quality so you could possibly have some detailed skins....or just have a bunch of models share the same bitmap and shader...Dragonfire wrote:If lets say a map was redone with hires bitmaps, would it look better consider the crappiness of the xbox graphics?
You're pretty much correct on that front. While one bitmap ingame made no difference to the lag, you must consider that a 2048x2048 uses 16x as much data as a 512x512 so it wouldn't take allot of these to lag a bit but they have no LODs so that alone makes it easier to load up.NotZachary82 wrote:I doubt the Xbox could handle all those hi-res bitmaps.
While the bitmap tag was a nice accomplishment, it's not very economic to use. Just one of these adds 4Mb to your map.
