I'm good, recently home from Aussie land and investigating starting a business teaching teenagers to develop computer games using unity. =)

I've been good. I have a game engine idea, and maybe find some help to write a game using MonoGame (Open Source Implementation of Microsoft XNA), and hopefully port it to C++ and use DirectX for availability on the Windows Store. If I get that far into it I will try to use MonoGame for iOS and Android for greater accessibility. Throw in a couple ads here and there into the menus and see if I can make some money :P

I'm still alive a kicking. Things haven't changed too much. I haven't touched any halo for at least 6 months, just haven't felt the need to. I've been working for the state as an IT specialist full time for over a year now, earning about $50K. I'm currently saving for a house. I would like to move out into the pines but finding a cheap property out there is near impossible.

I've been without a car for most of this winter. I was trying to get a last day of fishing in before the lakes froze and I ended up snapping an axle a few miles into the woods. I had to wave down a fire service guy and he was able to get me a tow. The good news is I have an order on the way for a new set. I don't leave the house much in the winter and I always car pool with my mom to work since we work in the same building, so I wasn't in a rush to repair it. I also have trust issues with other mechanics and I feel much better if I do the job myself.

I also got back together with a gaming community that I used to play counterstrike with. Their site is agamingcommunity.com, sorry for the earlier pun. They set up a Minecraft FTB server and I've been playing on that. So far the only chaos I've caused is blowning a hole in my neighbors house and spawned about 500 villagers causing temporary lag whenever a player entered the area.

I miss you guys, and I have seen you all moved on other stuff different from H2. A week ago I bought a Xbox for $65 and a new controller for $13, escalated the Xbox's HD to 250 GB from my old unused PC, and like half an hour ago I tried doing again BSP conversions and by the looks of things, I got a proper build (first BSP of Delta Halo, using gemini as base), I'll FTP later and check whats up, and thats my happiness :D

Thank you XZodia for the FTP server info, saved my life.

Hey fercho, lol I might just type cho because its simpler to type haha. Good to see you on man. If people start modding, maybe I will get the encouragement to write a model viewer and injector Add On for Abide.

Hey Eaton! :D actually I'm thinking (and trying) that xD But ATM can't even get a working rebuild of deltaapproach's bsp 00. Got it only once and it had freezing spots (have tried at least 15 times, using both versions of H2C and H2G, following your tutorial and Courgar's too, I get all the signals of a working rebuilt map but it freezes at game lobby, finished loading and just freezes, didn't even got a black screen), do you still have the old patch of that mod? (did I even gave it to someone? lol, I only remember it was about 90 MB)

Do you remember about another mod I was working on called "The Great Hall"? I'm taking a shot on it again

This could bring potential happiness, I reckon.

I have never upgraded my hard drive on my xbox, and although I am currently not near my modded xbox, I know in the future that hdd will fail and I will be devastated. I have an v1.0 xbox with a matrix modchip. Does anyone know of any good tutorials on how to change hdds? Is it possible to clone my hdd, so it is fucking simple. Im looking for the simplest way with surefire results.

Thanks!

Well before I had my box mod chip'ed, I brought my HDD's to mr_happy_penguin's house. He has an X3 chip and he could format them using the chip's BIOS. Then with it formatted, I would dump the partitions to my computer, than transfer them to the new drive. I have the same 250 GB drive in there that I have had for a while, and I don't know of another method, other than using an advanced mod chip.

I always just used softmods on my xboxs and have swapped to at least one larger HDD (although it's been so long that I would have to do massive research). I remember retrieving the EEPROM code, generating the HDD lock code, unlocking the HDD, copying to the new one and relocking the new HDD with the new generated code. I just cleaned my laptop off from most of that stuff a few weeks ago, but it's all backed up to an external drive if needed.

DoorM4n,

What BIOS are you currently using? Does it support using an unlocked hard drive? If it does you should be able to format a new disk using an evox boot cd:

Hey Penguin, thanks for the info man! Sadly, I didn't install my modchip or buy it, my bro did all that and I hijacked it from him and ended up using it 99.999% of the time. I have an old Matrix modchip, and I think this is it.

I have believe Evox is what I use. Im not sure if it supports unlocked hdds and im not near my box to find out. :/

You could just try shoving a new hard drive in the console and see what error it gives you. If it gives you Error 5 than you need a locked drive, if it's Error 14 you just need to format the drive and you can do this using a custom Evox Boot CD.

You can format a new HDD using you PC:
http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/no-m ... d-swap.php

It's been a while since I've messed with my consoles so I don't remember everything I've done with them. I have an Xecuter3 Chip and some other chip with an Xecuter2 BIOS on it.

Mah happiness:

After several tries, I finally got a working rebuild of Headlong with Coagulation's BSP, Deltacontrol's weather (rain), Zanzibar's water and AI. And yes, this will be another mod I'll release eventually (already got the perfect name for it: Forest of Doom :D)

Also, working looping sounds (you can actually hear it raining and shit)

I seriously need to get underwater fog on that...

Yeah, I'll add trees, active fog, complete skinning, (hopefully) underwater fog and some machines to make additional buildings (already got a gondola on there)

The only flaw atm is the sky, It got corrupted and I built another one and it also got corrupted

Thank you for your comments dude  I have been waiting for you on AIM but I've tried to add you several times and AIM doesn't let me, would you mind adding me? My screen name is iifercho4ii

EDIT: nvm, you're on my contact list now :v

That's really impressive, do you die if you go under the water? That would really change the dynamics of the map =)

You just gave me a great idea 8-)

About the underwater fog, I rebuilt again, I took BSP Water from Delta Halo and I also trasferred Fog pallete (it contained stuff related to fpch's underwater_fog), I have to set up the AI before testing (also using deltahalo's sky) I hope this works

Edit: didn't work :c
