That sky does look cool. Looks a little blurry around the sun, though.

Are you just trying to do a normal conversion and have corruptions?
If so, bumlove has asked me to convert the bsps in that map, I already did and will be uploading tonight.

Well I'm trying to do this conversion with H2Core and H2Guerrilla, and if corruptions happen, I would like to fix them. So far, this conversion has not frozen on me at any random point--which is extremely exciting because I usually get conversion freezing in random places.

@ Aumann, thanks for the compliment! I will look into the resolution and see what I can do about it. :)

@Jackson, I'll try injecting over the bitmap and let you know what my results are! Thanks for the tip!

EDIT:

I tried overwriting the bitmap and shader meta with the original bitmap and shader meta through basic meta injection and it gave me an unhandled error. I also tried rebuilding the original meta and it didn't seem to fix it at all. I will try renaming the recursively extracted water data and rebuild and relink. I'll see if that does anything.
What I may end up doing is a shader swap, that seemed to fix it.

sabu good stuff I love the delta bsps, lots of potential,

doorman, all your releases squeeze maps to almost death, but they still end up playable, i'd love to know your methods, How did you fix it?.

hahaha, thanks for the encouraging comments everyone. To be honest, modding bugs the crap out of me. I always find bugs in my procedures and am forced to redo maps a lot. I just found out in that build that I won't be able to add onyx chunks because the map is so edgy and each time I load them the map freezes, I have to redo the entire fkn thing. Yamagushi squares are also not working out very well. I have some sweet ideas for this map, but I am having trouble implementing them because my map is giving out on me, haha. If you guys ever wonder why I've been posting so many questions lately it is because this map is giving me such problems, hahah. If all goes well, I'll have a pirate ship, haha. I'm hesitant to show you guys though :XD:

Thanks again for the encouragement guys. I'm glad I posted this picture because it makes me want to continue this mod after endless failures. :D

Dissapearing can be fixed by enlarging bounding radius in bloc,scene,or mach, also adjust your dissapear/fade distance and lods.

In Entity 2.1.3 or one of the early 2.0 versions tick only parsed, and then drag and drop Onyx blocs from the Onyx_SLC_Fix.map
It should work with Entity 1 to 1.5 by ticking parsed and recursive too.

Add all the blocs befor doing a conversion if you can, sometimes maps wont decompile with onyx_blocs, like new_mombasa cinnamatic, so you have to add em after wich will often break shit.

Good luck, dont give up.

Ill be around tomarrow if you need some help, as ive figured out many problem making maps with added collision.

Oh okay, well I had only one lod because it was the inamberclad, and I changed the bounding radius of model and it fucked it up. I'll go check out the scen tag and fix it there. Thanks!

That's good you got your sky skin to load properly because after I inject, I would crash :P
So I would pre-inject everything inside h2G

This is basically what got me sick of H2X modding, I lose all interest after redoing something ten different ways and ten times over just to have a black screen as a reward for my wasted time and effort. That and creating your scene there will take a fraction of the time on any other engine with tools.

Great job though, I wish you luck.

Something to improve maybe, is it possible to use a higher-res texture for those mountains?

You are definitely right there, it is not encouraging failing many times. I usually try to find a map idea that I will be dedicated to so that I don't lose interest. I may fail but the map idea keeps me going. I'll work on the textures last because I have to make sure I can spawn all the shit I want. I will need to make a higher resolution bitmap--fuck, haha. The entire bsp is one bitmap too. :scared: :hmm: Gotta learn how to make high res bitmaps now, :XD: :XD:

It completely shows results, and you can see from the surroundings(ascension). It blends in with the lightmap. Another plus is you can use this like the coagulation ground bitmap(it lets you use multiple bitmaps in positioned places using the alpha map. Shader works with a unique [stem].)

Id like to demonstrate my understandings and thinking's of Halo 2 Sketchy Development. My main goal is to just build my own game styles. I plan on building things for realtime, so get your systems up to par.

I don't see custom bsp's being around in this modding scene anytime soon.

It is now that we should build tools to assist us in meeting the goal of developing maps and games for Halo 2. We are the heart beat of Halo 2 Development, we are the few the proud, the remnants. We should come together to build something amazing, yet we stand around making mediocre things.

I really need someone to build maps for me.
It seems like there aren't many Halo 2 modders active this year. Let things we've seen in the past inspire us, turk made some hilarious things and some delicate things, he showed that it was easy to build objects that shy away from the original intent and design of Halo 2, I want to stretch from the Halo 2 basis of what we see seconds after you press start game.


Look at the maps you have going now, would yo mama be proud? They look nothing like they should, there is no room for detail in the current and single handed development and design system.

We should collaborate in discussion as to how we can succeed in this goal using our current, and on coming systems of development.
